Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a Respiratory Therapist to provide assessment, treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory disorders under licensed medical direction.

The role involves administering therapeutic respiratory care procedures, documenting care, and performing diagnostic procedures in a hospital setting. Requires PA licensure or TPP, CRT before TPP expiry, and 2 years of hospital-based experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved respiratory therapy program.
• Pennsylvania state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist, or Temporary Practice Permit (TPP).
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) required prior to expiration of the TPP.
• Preferred Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• Two years' experience in pulmonary/respiratory medicine in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Administers therapeutic respiratory care procedures according to hospital and department policies.
• Completes required documentation to measure and monitor department effectiveness (charting, billing, IPOC, patient/family education).
• Performs diagnostic respiratory procedures according to hospital and department policies.
• Provides instruction to patients and other healthcare team members as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
