Job summary

Pediatric Home Service in Tampa, FL is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide pediatric home health care visits, assessments, and education to children and families.

You will perform initial patient assessments, develop care plans, and coordinate with the care team, with on-call duties and schedule management.

Required CRT NBRC, BLS, and 1–2 years pediatric RT experience; Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist preferred.

Qualifications

• Initial patient assessments including physical, functional and environmental needs.
• Develops patient-specific plans of care with goals and interventions.
• Ensures documentation is completed accurately and timely.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial equipment setup and patient/family education.
• Reviews and revises care plans and follows patients per policy.
• Participates in care conferences and collaborates with the care team.
• Performs on-call activities and schedules patient visits.

• Position: Respiratory Therapist
• Location: Tampa, FL
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Weekends/On-call: as determined by leadership
• Requirements: holds the following license; LRT, BLS

THE POSITION:

• Uses analytical ability to perform initial patient assessments including physical, functional, social and environmental resource requirements and needs. Ensures communication and coordination of services /care among all clinical services.
• Performs initial equipment set-up and patient/family/caregiver education.
• Develops patient specific plans of care based on initial assessments to include problems, goals and interventions.
• Reviews and revises care plans on an ongoing basis and ensure that all patients are followed according to that plan per PHS policy.
• Ensures that all required documentation is completed accurately and within the time frames set forth in PHS policy.
• Participates in care conferences and collaborates with all care team members internally and externally.
• Participates in day to day troubleshooting. Performs all on-call activities, analyze problems, formulates solutions, and notifies manager on-call as needed.
• Attend department and staff meetings as necessary.
• Schedule all patient visits per PHS follow-up policy.

THE QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) by The National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• One to two years of pediatric experience as a Respiratory Therapist

Preferred Qualifications:

• Neonatal & Pediatric Specialist (NPS)
