Job summary

Pediatric Home Service is a pediatric home health agency providing DME and nursing services to medically fragile children since 1990. The Respiratory Therapist role runs Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with weekends/on-call as determined by leadership.

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• One year of pediatric experience as a Respiratory Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial patient assessments and coordinate services among care teams.
• Educate patient, family, and caregivers on equipment and care needs.
• Develop and revise patient-specific plans of care based on assessments.
• Ensure documentation is accurate and timely per policy.
• Participate in care conferences and collaborate with care teams.
• Handle on-call duties and respond to problems with leadership notification.
• Schedule all patient visits per policy.

Job description

Pediatric Home Service is a friendly and professional leader in home health care with a singular passion for and commitment to taking care of the child. • Position: Respiratory Therapist
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Weekends/On-call: as determined by leadership
• Requirements: hold the following licenses: Licensed Respiratory Therapist (LRT) and Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Uses analytical ability to perform initial patient assessments including physical, functional, social and environmental resource requirements and needs. Ensures communication and coordination of services /care among all clinical services
• Performs initial equipment set-up and patient/family/caregiver education
• Develops patient specific plans of care based on initial assessments to include problems, goals and interventions
• Reviews and revises care plans on an ongoing basis and ensures that all patients are followed according to that plan per PHS policy
• Ensures that all required documentation is completed accurately and within the time frames set forth in PHS policy
• Participates in care conferences and collaborates with all care team members internally and externally
• Participates in day-to-day trouble shooting. Performs all on-call activities, analyzes problems, formulates solutions, and notifies manager on-call as needed
• Attend department and staff meetings as necessary
• Schedule all patient visits per PHS follow-up policy

Qualifications:

• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) by The National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• One (1) year of pediatric experience as a Respiratory Therapist

Preferred Qualifications:

• Neonatal & Pediatric Specialist (NPS)
