Job summary

Pediatric Home Service, Inc. is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide compassionate pediatric home health care, perform initial patient assessments, set up equipment, and develop child-specific care plans in collaboration with families and the care team.

The ideal candidate holds CRT NBRC, current BLS, and 1–2 years of pediatric RT experience, with a demonstrated ability to document accurately, participate in care conferences, and respond to on-call needs in a supportive, team-driven

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform initial patient assessments including physical, functional, social and environmental needs.
• Set up initial equipment and provide patient/family/caregiver education.
• Develop patient-specific plans of care with goals and interventions.
• Review and revise care plans to ensure ongoing patient follow-up per policy.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation per policy.
• Participate in care conferences and collaborate with the care team.
• Handle on-call duties, troubleshoot issues, and notify on-call manager.
• Schedule patient visits per policy.

• Position: Respiratory Therapist
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Weekends/On-call: as determined by leadership
• Requirements: holds the following license; LRT, BLS

THE POSITION:

• Uses analytical ability to perform initial patient assessments including physical, functional, social and environmental resource requirements and needs. Ensures communication and coordination of services /care among all clinical services.
• Performs initial equipment set-up and patient/family/caregiver education.
• Develops patient specific plans of care based on initial assessments to include problems, goals and interventions.
• Reviews and revises care plans on an ongoing basis and ensure that all patients are followed according to that plan per PHS policy.
• Ensures that all required documentation is completed accurately and within the time frames set forth in PHS policy.
• Participates in care conferences and collaborates with all care team members internally and externally.
• Participates in day to day trouble shooting. Performs all on-call activities, analyze problems, formulates solutions, and notifies manager on-call as needed.
• Attend department and staff meetings as necessary.
• Schedule all patient visits per PHS follow-up policy.

THE QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) by The National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• One to two years of pediatric experience as a Respiratory Therapist

Preferred Qualifications:

Neonatal & Pediatric Specialist (NPS)
