Job summary

Pediatric Home Service is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join our pediatric home health team in Richardson, TX. The RT will conduct initial assessments, educate patients and families, and develop patient-specific plans of care to be implemented at home and coordinated with the care team.

Qualified candidates hold NBRC-CRT, current BLS certification, and have 1–2 years of pediatric RT experience. This on-site role includes responsibilities across documentation, care coordination, and family

Responsibilities

• Performs initial patient assessments and coordinates services.
• Provides equipment setup and patient/family education.
• Develops patient-specific care plans based on assessments.
• Reviews and revises care plans with ongoing updates.
• Ensures timely and accurate documentation per policy.
• Participates in care conferences and multidisciplinary teams.
• Handles on-call duties and on-site troubleshooting as needed.
• Attends department and staff meetings and schedules visits.

• Position: Respiratory Therapist
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Weekends/On-call: as determined by leadership
• Requirements: holds the following license; LRT, BLS

THE POSITION

• Uses analytical ability to perform initial patient assessments including physical, functional, social and environmental resource requirements and needs. Ensures communication and coordination of services /care among all clinical services.
• Performs initial equipment set-up and patient/family/caregiver education.
• Develops patient specific plans of care based on initial assessments to include problems, goals and interventions.
• Reviews and revises care plans on an ongoing basis and ensure that all patients are followed according to that plan per PHS policy.
• Ensures that all required documentation is completed accurately and within the time frames set forth in PHS policy.
• Participates in care conferences and collaborates with all care team members internally and externally.
• Participates in day to day trouble shooting. Performs all on-call activities, analyze problems, formulates solutions, and notifies manager on-call as needed.
• Attend department and staff meetings as necessary.
• Schedule all patient visits per PHS follow-up policy.

THE QUALIFICATIONS

• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) by The National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• One to two years of pediatric experience as a Respiratory Therapist
