Job summary

Pediatric Home Service, a pediatric home health agency, is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to support children in Abilene, TX, in a Monday–Friday day-shift with on-call potential.

The role requires NBRC-registered CRT and BLS, plus 1–2 years of pediatric RT experience, with responsibilities across initial assessments, education, care planning, and inter-team coordination.

Qualifications

• CRT NBRC certification is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• One to two years of pediatric experience as a Respiratory Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial patient assessments, coordinating care across all clinical services.
• Sets up initial equipment and educates patient, family, and caregivers.
• Develops and revises patient care plans based on assessments and policy.
• Ensures documentation is completed accurately and on time.
• Participates in care conferences and collaborates with care team members.
• Performs on-call activities, troubleshoots, and notifies manager as needed.
• Schedules patient visits in accordance with follow-up policy.

• Position: Respiratory Therapist
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Weekends/On-call: as determined by leadership
• Requirements: holds the following license; LRT, BLS

THE POSITION:

• Uses analytical ability to perform initial patient assessments including physical, functional, social and environmental resource requirements and needs. Ensures communication and coordination of services /care among all clinical services.
• Performs initial equipment set-up and patient/family/caregiver education.
• Develops patient specific plans of care based on initial assessments to include problems, goals and interventions.
• Reviews and revises care plans on an ongoing basis and ensure that all patients are followed according to that plan per PHS policy.
• Ensures that all required documentation is completed accurately and within the time frames set forth in PHS policy.
• Participates in care conferences and collaborates with all care team members internally and externally.
• Participates in day to day trouble shooting. Performs all on-call activities, analyze problems, formulates solutions, and notifies manager on-call as needed.
• Attend department and staff meetings as necessary.
• Schedule all patient visits per PHS follow-up policy.

THE QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) by The National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• One to two years of pediatric experience as a Respiratory Therapist

Preferred Qualifications:

Neonatal & Pediatric Specialist (NPS)
