Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Western Massachusetts is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to deliver high-quality patient care with strong independent judgment. You will set up, operate, and manage respiratory equipment including ventilators and high-flow devices, and support physicians and care teams.

The role requires MA licensure, NBRC RRT/CRT certification, and current BLS/NRP (ACLS preferred). Full-time, night shifts with weekend/holiday differentials.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Care from an accredited program.
• Current MA Respiratory Therapist license.
• NBRC certification as RRT or CRT.
• BLS and NRP current or obtained within 90 days; ACLS recommended.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care with substantial independent judgment.
• Serve as a technical resource to physicians and health care workers on respiratory care practices.
• Set up, operate, and manage respiratory equipment (ventilators, NIPPV/CPAP, HFNC).
• Manage patients on invasive ventilation modes (AC, PSV, PC, APRV, Bi-level).

Job description

What you will do

• Function clinically with a considerable amount of independent judgment regarding the delivery of quality patient care
• Serve as a technical resource person to the physicians and other health care workers, with regard to current practices in respiratory care
• Set up, operate and manage patient care on respiratory related equipment such as mechanical ventilators, NIPPV/CPAP, or High Flow Oxygen devices
• Manage patients on invasive mechanical ventilation modes (AC, PSV, PC, APRV, Bi-level)

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Care, minimum of a two-year Associate's Degree
• Current State of MA Respiratory Therapist License
• NBRC certification as RRT or CRT
• Current BLS and NRP (or obtained within 90 days of hire date); ACLS recommended

Position Highlights and Benefits

• 36hr, three 12hr shifts per week 7p-7a (full time). Shift, Weekend and Holiday differentials apply
