Job description

The Respiratory Care Practitioner II is responsible for assessing respiratory patients with acute and chronic illnesses to ensure the delivery of clinically appropriate respiratory care procedures as prescribed by the medical staff for neonate, pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients.

Salary and Benefits: The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range depends on factors such as work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For union-represented positions, salary placement is guided by the collective bargaining agreement.

Salary Range: $65.11 - $81.68 (Hourly Rate)

Minimum Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited school of Respiratory Care program or equivalent to be licensed.
• One year of neonatal/pediatric acute and intensive care experience preferred.
• Effective communication skills, emotional stability, computer proficiency, strong organizational and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Sit: Up to 3 hours/day
• Stand/Walk: 6-8 hours
• Bend/Stoop: Up to 3 hours
• Reach: Up to 6 hours
• Use of UE/Grasp: Up to 6 hours
• Lift/Push/Pull: 25 lbs; over 25 lbs with assistance or equipment
• Ability to hear alarms and instructions; vision from 20 inches to 20 ft. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.

Preferred Qualifications: N/A

License/Certification: Current CA RCP license, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), BLS, NRP required.
