Position Details

• Position: Respiratory Therapist
• Location: Madison/Milwaukee, WI
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Weekends/On-call: as determined by leadership
• Requirements: holds the following license – LRT, BLS

The Position

• Uses analytical ability to perform initial patient assessments including physical, functional, social and environmental resource requirements and needs. Ensures communication and coordination of services/care among all clinical services.
• Performs initial equipment set‑up and patient/family/caregiver education.
• Develops patient specific plans of care based on initial assessments to include problems, goals and interventions.
• Reviews and revises care plans on an ongoing basis and ensures that all patients are followed according to that plan per PHS policy.
• Ensures that all required documentation is completed accurately and within the time frames set forth in PHS policy.
• Participates in care conferences and collaborates with all care team members internally and externally.
• Participates in day to day troubleshooting. Performs all on‑call activities, analyzes problems, formulates solutions, and notifies manager on‑call as needed.
• Attends department and staff meetings as necessary.
• Schedules all patient visits per PHS follow‑up policy.

Qualifications

• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) by The National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• One to two years of pediatric experience as a Respiratory Therapist

Preferred Qualifications

• Neonatal & Pediatric Specialist (NPS)
