Job summary

Pediatric Home Service in Columbus, Ohio is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide care for medically fragile children. The ideal candidate is a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and one to two years of pediatric experience. Responsibilities

• Perform initial patient assessments and ensure communication of care.
• Set-up equipment and educate patient/family/caregiver.
• Develop patient specific plans of care based on assessments.
• Ensure ongoing review and revision of care plans.
• Complete required documentation accurately and timely.
• Participate in care conferences and collaborate with care team.
• Troubleshoot day-to-day issues and perform on-call activities.
• Schedule all patient visits per follow-up policy.

• Position: Respiratory Therapist
• Location: Columbus, Ohio
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Weekends/On-call: as determined by leadership
• Requirements: holds the following license; LRT, BLS

THE POSITION

• Uses analytical ability to perform initial patient assessments including physical, functional, social and environmental resource requirements and needs. Ensures communication and coordination of services/care among all clinical services.
• Performs initial equipment set-up and patient/family/caregiver education.
• Develops patient specific plans of care based on initial assessments to include problems, goals and interventions.
• Reviews and revises care plans on an ongoing basis and ensures that all patients are followed according to that plan per PHS policy.
• Ensures that all required documentation is completed accurately and within the time frames set forth in PHS policy.
• Participates in care conferences and collaborates with all care team members internally and externally.
• Participates in day to day trouble shooting. Performs all on‑call activities, analyzes problems, formulates solutions, and notifies manager on‑call as needed.
• Attend department and staff meetings as necessary.
• Schedule all patient visits per PHS follow‑up policy.

THE QUALIFICATIONS

• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• One to two years of pediatric experience as a Respiratory Therapist

• Neonatal & Pediatric Specialist (NPS)
