Job summary

Aspire Rural Health System in Marlette, MI is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join our Respiratory Department. This full-time night shift position includes weekend rotation and a comprehensive benefits package.

The ideal candidate is an AS graduate, with NBRC RRT certification, CPR/BLS, and ACLS/PALS training within 6 months of hire, and at least one year of hospital experience. You will provide professional respiratory care under physician direction.

Qualifications

• Graduate of JRCRTE approved program of respiratory care.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from NBRC required, to be obtained within 6 months of graduating.
• AS degree required.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory care procedures and therapeutic evaluations as prescribed.
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses to manage patient care and ensure safety.

OPEN POSITION:

Position: Respiratory Therapist
Department: Respiratory Department
Location: Marlette, MI
Hours: Full-time. Nights. 12 hr. shifts. Holidays. Weekend Rotation. Full Benefits.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate of a Joint Review Committee for Respiratory Therapy Education (JRCRTE) approved program of respiratory care.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required. (RRT needs to be obtained within 6 months of graduating)
• Associate of Science (A.S.) required.
• One year of hospital experience in respiratory care preferred.
• Able to perform CPR and Current BLS certification required at date of hire by the American Heart Association.
• Must obtain ACLS/PALS within 6 months of hire date by American Heart Association.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The RT acquires training and clinical experience while providing logistical support for the operations of the Respiratory Care Department. The RT possesses sufficient training and experience to perform independent professional respiratory care diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and clinical evaluation of care including the establishment of therapeutic objectives and the review of care based on the age and needs of the patient. The final and ultimate authority, judgment, and clinical decision-making are the responsibility of a physician. The therapist is involved in acute, critical and/or life-threatening patient care areas and situations. Standard practice requires him/her to proceed along in administering emergency, life-sustaining procedures until such time as judgment and decision-making responsibilities may be assumed by a physician.
