Geneva Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our long-term care team. This position is ideal for a respiratory professional who enjoys building meaningful relationships with residents while providing consistent, high-quality respiratory care.
Our Respiratory Therapist will work closely with residents, families, nursing staff, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to manage chronic respiratory conditions, promote optimal lung function, and improve residents' quality of life.
Provide respiratory assessments and ongoing respiratory care for long-term care residents.
Monitor and manage residents with chronic respiratory conditions, including COPD, asthma, pneumonia, and other cardiopulmonary disorders.
Provide oxygen therapy and other prescribed respiratory treatments.
Perform respiratory treatments, including nebulizer treatments, as ordered.
Assist with tracheostomy care and management, as applicable.
Provide ventilator and other respiratory equipment management for residents requiring advanced respiratory support.
Monitor residents for changes in respiratory status and promptly communicate concerns to nursing staff and providers.
Participate in care planning and contribute respiratory recommendations to individualized resident care plans.
Educate residents, families, and caregivers regarding respiratory conditions, treatments, medications, oxygen safety, and equipment.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of respiratory assessments, treatments, and resident responses.
Collaborate with nursing and other interdisciplinary team members to promote resident safety, comfort, and quality of life.
Assist with respiratory-related emergency situations and follow facility protocols.
Maintain respiratory equipment and ensure appropriate infection-control and safety practices are followed.
Support residents in maintaining the highest possible level of independence and function.
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
Current Respiratory Therapist license in the state of Ohio.
RRT credential preferred/required
Current BLS certification.
Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, home care, or geriatric respiratory care preferred.
Experience with tracheostomy and ventilator management.
Strong assessment, communication, documentation, and clinical decision-making skills.
Compassionate and patient-centered approach to resident care.
Ability to work collaboratively with nursing staff and the interdisciplinary care team.
