The Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Corporation is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join the patient care team for critical care patients. The role includes initiating, modifying, and discontinuing respiratory therapies, with a $15k sign-on bonus and night shift responsibilities on site.

The position requires an Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy (Bachelor's preferred), valid BLS, and NBRC RRT certification is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy preferred.
  • BLS Certification required; NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist preferred; NRP preferred; MA state license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Initiates and/or assists with respiratory tests and procedures as ordered to deliver appropriate care.
  • Responds to respiratory emergencies and transports ventilated patients as needed.
  • Prepares care plan and makes recommendations to physician for indicated therapy.
  • Schedules patient treatments and provides consultation as a member of the care team.
  • Manages all aspects of respiratory therapy according to policies; conducts bedside rounds.
  • Modifies treatment plans based on clinical status and response; educates students and staff.

Analyzes and evaluates clinical patient data to determine the appropriate therapy or interventions and makes recommendations on patient care plans to the medical staff.Does this position require Patient Care? YesEssential Functions-Initiates and/or assists with appropriate respiratory tests and procedures, as ordered, to deliver appropriate care to patients-Responds to respiratory emergencies and transports mechanically ventilated patients when moved from units for tests and procedures-Prepares appropriate care plan, and makes specific recommendations to physician for indicated therapy. Schedules patient treatments as necessary and provides consultation as an active member of the patient care team-Manages the administration of all aspects of respiratory therapy according to respiratory care policies and procedures-Makes regular bedside rounds and administers Respiratory Care modalities to assigned patients.
