Job summary

Elite Nursing and Rehabilitation in Birmingham, AL is seeking a compassionate Respiratory Therapist to deliver high-quality respiratory care within our skilled nursing and long-term care community.

You will perform treatments, monitor residents, and coordinate with physicians and nursing staff to ensure timely interventions. A CRT or RRT license and BLS are required, ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT) license in good standing.
• Current BLS certification.
• ACLS certification is preferred.
• Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or post-acute care.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory treatments and therapies as ordered by the physician
• Assess and monitor resident respiratory status during routine treatments and rounds
• Identify changes in condition and promptly communicate concerns to nursing and providers
• Assist with management of oxygen therapy and oxygen equipment
• Monitor residents utilizing respiratory devices and therapies
• Perform routing respiratory assessment including breath sounds, respiratory effort, oxygen saturation, and treatment effectiveness
• Recognize early sign of respiratory decline and initiate appropriate communication and intervention
