Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Respiratory Testing Technician at the DEVCOM CBC facility in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. The role supports respiratory protection research with HEPA and HEGA filtration systems, metabolic breathing simulators, and related monitoring equipment in a government lab setting.

You will work with Principal Investigators to advance laboratory operations and ensure accurate data delivery for respiratory protection testing and evaluations.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in chemistry or related field with 2+ years of experience, or high school diploma with 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with safe usage of filter leak test equipment and chemical monitoring equipment.
• Understanding of health science and/or engineering principles related to respiratory systems.
• U.S. citizen; ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Equipment setup, systemization, operation and maintenance of chemical and biological filtration systems including HEPA and HEGA.
• Testing support for Automated Metabolic Breathing simulator and other respiratory protection systems.
• Operations debugging, optimization testing, and repair for specialized chemical monitoring equipment.
• Calibration and verification testing of chemical laboratory equipment and filtration media testing systems.
• Assessment of chemical monitoring data to support respiratory protection testing environments.
• Collaborate with Principal Investigators to drive daily laboratory operations and project delivery.
• Work with internal experts to analyze how applied technologies affect respiratory protection solutions.
• Design solutions to resolve multifaceted technical issues in applied sciences.
