Job summary

Leidos is seeking a role that supports environmental sampling, laboratory analysis, and radiation detection across field and lab settings. The position requires flexible hours, ability to work in PPE, and travel to field sites as needed.

Candidates should hold a STEM degree, an active security clearance (Top Secret preferred), and experience in emergency response or environmental sampling. Responsibilities include sample tracking, equipment management, and collaboration with diverse teams.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Active Secret security clearance (Top Secret preferred).
  • Emergency services or environmental sampling experience, training, and/or education.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule outside of 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. hours when workload dictates.
  • Ability to wear a full-face air-purifying respirator and Class III/Level C protective ensemble.
  • Ability to routinely lift 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Collect environmental samples in accordance with established protocols.
  • Prepare and process PCR plates, and analyze unknown substances in lab settings.
  • Operate and maintain radiation detection technologies for accurate measurements.
  • Perform decontamination and sampling in potentially hazardous environments.
  • Maintain chain of custody and documentation using sample-tracking software (e.g., EQuIS).
  • Track and manage sampling media and lab equipment; order supplies as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with customer personnel, external agencies, contractors, and internal teams.
