Pinecrest Supports & Services Center seeks a compassionate Respiratory Care Therapist I‑2 Registered to join our healthcare team. You will administer respiratory therapy, care for devices, document progress, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to promote wellness for individuals we serve.

The role requires a Louisiana license as a Respiratory Therapist and NBRC Registered accreditation, with shift from 5:30 AM to 6:00 PM and opportunities for career progression within LDH Health

Qualifications

• Must possess a current Louisiana Respiratory Therapist license and NBRC Registered accreditation.
• Experience with respiratory therapy modalities and equipment.
• Ability to document in progress notes and MAR.
• Knowledge of quality control and assurance records.

Responsibilities

Pinecrest Supports and Services Center specializes in the treatment of people with comorbid intellectual and developmental disabilities and complex medical, behavioral, and psychiatric support needs.

Possession of a current Louisiana Respiratory Therapist license and accreditation with the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.

Job Duties

• Administer respiratory therapy modality to individuals via small volume nebulizers, metered dose inhalers, oxygen concentrators, c-pap and bi-pap machines,
• Tracheotomy care and suctioning, incentive spirometry and assess clients pre and post treatment with pulse oximetry, respiratory rate, osculate bilateral breath sounds, skin color, sputum characteristics, cough effort and pulse.
• Make rounds to complete ordered treatments and observations. Document in progress notes and Medication Administration Record for any procedures performed or medications given.
• Maintain and clean all respiratory equipment including oxygen concentrators, suction machines, c-pap, bi-pap equipment and air compressors. Assemble and change out all disposable respiratory equipment, order oxygen as needed and respiratory medications from pharmacy.
• Maintain records of quality control and assurance reports including quarterly assessments and pneumonia reports.
• Conduct tracheotomy care evaluations for staff. Meet with Interdisciplinary Team including Primary Care Providers and nurses to present and discuss evaluations.

Career Progression:This position may be filled as a RESPIRATORY CARE THERAPIST 1— REGISTEREDorRESPIRATORY CARE THERAPIST 2— REGISTEREDdepending on the qualifications of the selected applicant.

Compensation:(Depends on Qualifications)

This position also receives Shift Differential, and Additional pay options.
