Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a Respiratory Therapy student in the clinical phase to assist under direct supervision, gaining hands-on experience for future employment in the Respiratory Therapy Department.

Responsibilities include administering respiratory treatments per guidelines, preparing and cleaning equipment, and maintaining accurate records while supporting patients from newborn to geriatric. Eligible shifts include flexi/PRN with supportive educational and wellness benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must be actively enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.

Responsibilities

• Renders respiratory treatments under supervision and follows standard practice guidelines.
• Assembles trays and cleans equipment.
• Maintains accurate records.
• Maintains compliance with the departmental competency and validation program.
• Responds to the needs of all patient ages newborn through geriatric.
• Performs various other duties upon request.
