Job summary

University Hospitals is seeking a Respiratory Care Assistant to support patient care within our respiratory therapy team. The role involves delivering medicated aerosols, airway clearance therapies, and monitoring patients with bedside spirometry, noninvasive monitors, and ECG.

You will assist with oxygen/humidity therapy and participate in special procedures as needed. As part of our team, you will follow all hospital policies, safeguard PHI, and complete orientation documentation.

Responsibilities

• Medicated aerosol delivery
• Airway clearance therapy
• Patient monitoring (bedside spirometry, noninvasive monitors, and ECG)
• Oxygen and humidity therapy
• Special procedures (CPR, collect data, equipment setups)
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Complies with all policies and standards
• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain PHI for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
