Job summary

Piedmont Newton Hospital is seeking a PRN Respiratory Care student to support aerosol therapy, chest physical therapy, and oximetry evaluations as needed. The role includes performing BCLS activities and assisting with non-invasive respiratory care under supervision to ensure quality patient care.

The student must be enrolled in an AMA approved respiratory care program, maintain active student status, and provide a letter of recommendation from the program director.

Qualifications

• Student currently enrolled in an AMA approved respiratory care program and completed one semester.
• Active student status must be maintained and documented; letter of recommendation from Program Director for consideration of employment.
• Must have completed a student respiratory floor therapy rotation.

Responsibilities

• Administers aerosol therapy, chest physical therapy and oximetry evaluations to non-critical patients.
• Performs Basic Life Support activities.
• Teaches and demonstrates respiratory care activities to patients and their representatives.
• Cleans, assembles, sets up and maintains equipment and supplies.
• Performs non-invasive respiratory care procedures as ordered under the supervision of a licensed Respiratory Therapist.
