Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent: Preferred
• Master's Degree: Preferred
• RCP license in CA: Required
• CPR/BLS certification: Required
• NRP certification: Preferred
• ACLS certification: Required in ICU/ED
• PALS certification: Preferred
• PEARS certification: Preferred
• AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS: Required
• AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS: Required

Responsibilities

• Assesses and documents the appropriateness of prescribed therapy for patients receiving respiratory care services.
• Administers aerosol and oxygen therapy and maintains charts.
• Draws arterial blood gases per policy and physician order.
• Provides care to ventilator patients and assists in training of new staff.
• Performs pulmonary function tests and other cardio-respiratory procedures.
• Rounds to check respiratory therapy equipment and ensures ventilator bundle compliance.
• Maintains equipment and assists during procedures such as bronchoscopies.
