Job summary

PACS Group is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to provide respiratory therapy, management, rehabilitation, diagnostic evaluation, and direct patient care across our facilities in the Pittsburgh area. The role emphasizes adherence to policies, accurate data collection, and effective communication with care teams.

Ideal candidates hold an associate degree with program completion in respiratory care, with a BS in health care preferred, and at least 1 year of acute/subacute experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited school.
• Graduate of a respiratory care program.
• BS in health care (preferred).
• Minimum of one (1) year respiratory experience in an acute and/or subacute unit preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow schedule/instructions from supervisor and policies and procedures.
• Adhere to facility policies and procedures.
• Perform focused interview to identify patients’ needs.
• Assess signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret data and documents diagnoses.
• Plan outcomes of care for patients assigned.
• Perform interventions per plan of care and hospital policies.
• Adhere to emergency, safety and infection control procedures.
• Promote good interpersonal communications.
• Report changes in respiratory status to supervisors and physicians as needed.
• Maintain rapport with inter-department staff.
• Protect patient information and report disclosures.
• Assume administrative authority for assigned duties.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident care information.
