Job summary

Mercy Health in Urbana Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner I to provide compassionate respiratory care, assess patients, plan treatments and evaluate outcomes.

You will administer therapies per physician orders, monitor responses, educate patients and families, and may serve as a preceptor. Licensed respiratory care credentials are required; NBRC credentialing is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree related to respiratory therapy or healthcare (preferred).
• Current Respiratory Care License in the state of work (required).
• NBRC credentialed (required).
• BLS (required).
• ACLS (preferred).
• PALS (preferred).
• Driver’s license (required for Home Care/DME).

Responsibilities

• Assess patient status and review data to determine therapy.
• Perform prescribed respiratory treatments and monitor patient response.
• Instruct patients and families on therapy use and home care.
• Set up and monitor oxygen therapy and ventilator care.
• Maintain Respiratory Therapy equipment and assist with procedures as needed.
• Respond to emergencies and support cardio-pulmonary resuscitation as needed.
