Job summary

Mercy Health in Urbana Hospital is seeking a PRN Respiratory Care Practitioner I to deliver patient-focused respiratory care across assessment, planning, intervention and education. You will work under physician orders and coordinate with the care team to achieve optimal oxygenation and ventilation.

Qualifications

• Current Respiratory Care License (state) required.
• NBRC credentialed required.
• BLS Basic Life Support required.
• ACLS/PALS preferred.
• Valid Driver's License required for Home Care/DME.
• Experience in ambulatory or acute care settings preferred.
• 6 months Respiratory Therapy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient status and review data to plan therapy.
• Administer therapies per physician orders and adjust as needed.
• Instruct patients and families on inhaler use and respiratory care.
• Prepare for bronchoscopy/tracheostomy and assist procedures.
• Maintain respiratory therapy equipment and supplies.
• Respond to cardio-pulmonary emergencies as needed.
