Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to assess and treat patients from neonate to adult, in a hospital setting in Council Bluffs, IA. You will perform modalities, document care, and collaborate with the care team to ensure optimal outcomes.

The role requires an Associate’s degree with a Respiratory Care certificate (and a BS if available), 3–6 months of hospital experience, and CRT or RRT with Iowa licensure, plus BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP credentials as applicable.

Qualifications

• Associate degree with a Respiratory Care certificate is required.
• 1-year equivalent experience? 3–6 months on-the-job experience is required.
• Licenses/certifications: CRT or RRT and Iowa license required.
• CPR/BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP certifications as specified.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex respiratory care modalities as ordered.
• Document procedures and patient assessments in the information system.
• Maintain and update care plans; communicate with care team.
• Educate nursing and ancillary staff on respiratory care procedures.
