Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to assess and treat patients across neonate to adult in the HealthWest clinic setting. The role requires performing a range of respiratory care modalities and documenting interventions in the EMR.

The ideal candidate will hold an AS degree in Respiratory Care, be an RRT or obtain certification within 12 months, and possess BLS/ACLS/PALS credentials, with NRP preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate of Science Degree with certificate in Respiratory Care required.
• 3-6 months of on-the-job experience to gain knowledge of policies, procedures and routines.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required within 12 months of accepting the Advanced Practitioner position.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner license for work state required.
• Current BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications required.
• PALS required within 6 months of hire; NRP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and complex modalities of respiratory care with minimal supervision.
• Documents procedures and patient assessments in the medical information system.
• Updates care plans to reflect patient needs and progress.
• Interacts with physicians, nurses and staff to coordinate care.
• Maintains protocol adherence and ensures high-quality therapy.
