Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System in Council Bluffs is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to assess and deliver respiratory care to pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients. The role includes performing routine and complex therapies, documenting care, and collaborating with the care team to meet patient goals.

Required AS degree, preferred BS degree, and licensure with NBRC RRT within 12–18 months. A current BLS and ACLS are also required, with a 8am–4:30pm schedule.

Qualifications

• Requires strong written and verbal communication to coordinate with the patient care team.
• On-the-job experience to understand policies, procedures and routines.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and complex modalities of respiratory care independent of direct supervision.
• Documents procedures and patient assessments in the medical records system.
• Develops, reviews and revises care plans to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Provides pre-treatment education on lung health and prescribed therapies.
