Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health is seeking an Respiratory Care Intern to provide advanced respiratory care under supervision of a licensed Respiratory Therapist across ICU, acute care, and ER settings. You will perform care within curriculum-approved procedures and collaborate with Respiratory Educators to ensure patient safety.

The role requires current enrollment in an accredited Respiratory Care program in Virginia and a current AHA BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited Respiratory Care Program within Virginia.
• Current AHA BLS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, provide patient care for patients across age groups within the respiratory care scope.
• Perform basic spirometry, airway clearance techniques, and ventilator-related support as trained.
• Assist with blood gas analysis and other duties within competency under a licensed RT.
