Job summary

VCU Health System is seeking a Respiratory Care Intern to provide advanced respiratory care to patients under the supervision of a licensed Respiratory Therapist. You will work across ICU, acute care, and ER settings, following curriculum-based scope and safety procedures.

Requires enrollment in a Virginia Respiratory Care Program and current BLS certification. The role supports respiratory educators and participates in special projects to aid patient care delivery.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Virginia Respiratory Care Program.
• Preferred hospital/medical background or experience.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced respiratory care under supervision.
• Perform basic procedures within curriculum and under guidance.
• Calibrate and sterilize respiratory equipment and supplies.
• Respond to pages and codes with RT support.
