Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Respiratory Care Aide to support neonatal through geriatric patients under supervision of a licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner. You will perform general respiratory care duties including treatments, oxygen administration, suctioning, and ABG puncture and analysis, delivering compassionate care in a busy hospital setting.

Required enrollment in a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Care program, NCRCB RCA registration, competency evaluations, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Care program in good standing.
• Registered with the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board as RCA.
• Completed competency evaluations for assigned duties.
• BLS certification required by policy.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs across the life span and document age-specific requirements.
• Provide and assess the effectiveness of patient and family education.
• Perform respiratory care treatments and oxygen administration.
• Suction patients and obtain/run ABG samples.
