Job summary

Atrium Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Respiratory Care Assistant to perform respiratory duties under the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board Declaratory Ruling for Respiratory Care Assistants (RCA), provide treatments, administer oxygen, suction patients, and collect and run ABG samples.

The role requires NCRCB RCA registration, BLS for healthcare providers, enrollment in an approved respiratory care program, and demonstrated clinical competency.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited respiratory care program approved by CoARC and successful completion of 1 year of such program is required.
• Evidence of completed clinical competency evaluations through their Respiratory Program (skills lab and didactics).

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory duties as outlined by NCRCB Declaratory Ruling for Respiratory Care Assistants (RCA).
• Performs respiratory care treatments, oxygen administration, suctions patients and obtains and runs ABG samples.
• Follows departmental safety guidelines and completes regulatory requirements, including annual proficiency evaluation of respiratory care equipment and procedures.
