Job Overview

Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system at UChicago Medicine, Ingalls Memorial Hospital as a Respiratory Care Services Assistant Manager (RRT) in Harvey, Illinois. This role oversees operations and patient care in the Adult Hospital Respiratory Care Services department, including managing daily assignments, quality audits, staff huddles, and ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with the Respiratory Care Services Manager (RCSM).

Essential Responsibilities

• Perform all respiratory therapist functions, support program development, and participate in committees and quality improvement initiatives.
• Promote effective communication, staff morale, and align departmental goals with hospital objectives.
• Manage resources, participate in staffing planning, and support budget and financial accountability.
• Maintain professional development through self-assessment, participation in professional organizations, and ongoing education.
• Provide clinical expertise, demonstrate leadership, and ensure appropriate patient care across all age groups.
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement and research activities.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Current Illinois Respiratory Care License
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• At least three years of respiratory care experience, including neonatal/pediatrics, and one year of supervisory experience
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in relevant fields
• Advanced certifications such as ACLS or PALS
• Epic EMR training
