Job summary

Haywood Regional Medical Center is seeking a Respiratory Aide to support respiratory therapists under supervision. You will prepare for and provide patient care across respiratory procedures as part of the Respiratory Therapy team.

Responsibilities include oxygen systems, equipment processing, resuscitation, and various therapies. Must be enrolled in a recognized Respiratory Care Program with BLS within 30 days, and hospital radiologic tech training is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a recognized Respiratory Care Program approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care.
• Student must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA in all RCP courses and overall average of 2.0.
• Must register with the Board on the required form before performing respiratory care procedures.
• Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Hospital training during two years of Radiologic Technologist program preferred.
• Experience in other x‑ray departments, clinics, or medical offices desirable.

About the Role

As a Respiratory Aide, you assist respiratory therapists with patient care under direct supervision of a licensed respiratory care practitioner. • Small Volume Nebulizer Therapy
• MDI Administration
• Incentive Spirometry

• Electrocardiogram (if performed)
• Patient Reporting

Education and Licenses

• Must be enrolled in a recognized Respiratory Care Program approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care.
