Job summary

Haywood Regional Medical Center - A Duke LifePoint Hospital in Clyde, NC is seeking a PRN Respiratory Therapist for night shifts. You will measure lung capacity, assist with therapy plans, and monitor patient responses in a 154-bed facility providing general surgery, women's care, ICU and emergency services.

Join a dedicated respiratory therapy team that collaborates with physicians and caregivers to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Respiratory Therapy program and be a registered Respiratory Therapist in North Carolina.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred.
• ASLS certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Measures lung capacity and analyzes blood samples using a blood gas analyzer.
• Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care; monitors and communicates patient condition.
• Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices.
• Responds to codes and emergent calls; delivers appropriate treatment.
• Educates patient and family about illness and community resources.
• Monitors, stocks, and distributes respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders.
• Maintains storage areas with required supply levels and equipment; cleans and sterilizes equipment and performs maintenance.

Join our dedicated Respiratory Therapy team at HRMC, a 154-bed facility offering a full range of services including general surgery, women's care, intensive care, and emergency services. Our team is committed to delivering exceptional respiratory care, continuously seeking ways to enhance the patient and family experience. We work closely with all providers and caregivers to ensure the best possible outcomes for every patient we serve.

How You'll Contribute

• Measures lung capacity and analyzes blood samples using a blood gas analyzer.
• Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices.
• Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance. Assesses patient condition and delivers appropriate treatment.
• Educates the patient and family about the patient's illness and provides information about community support groups and other resources.
• Monitors, receives, stocks, and distributes respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders.
• Maintains storage areas with required supply levels and equipment.
• Disassembles, cleans, and sterilizes equipment, and performs preventative maintenance and calibration of machines.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should be a graduate of a school of Respiratory Therapy and be a registered Respiratory Therapist In North Carolina. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred
• ASLS certification preferred
