Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to support BayCare HomeCare - Extended Care in Largo, FL. The role involves delivering clinical respiratory therapy and equipment management in patients’ homes or contracted facilities on a daily schedule.

The position requires a Technical Respiratory Therapy and an Associate’s Respiratory Therapy degree, NBRC RRT credential (or CRT for review), BLS, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• RRT (Respiratory Therapy License) OR CRT eligible for review.
• Active NBRC Credential for RRT.
• BLS certification.
• Active Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Completes day-to-day orders called into the Respiratory Therapy Department and follows up on visits for apnea monitor or ventilator patients, in compliance with regulatory agencies.
• Educates patients and caregivers on setup, use, maintenance and safety of respiratory therapy equipment in the home.
• Performs diagnostic testing on behalf of the physician.
• Maintains communication with the patient’s physician regarding order clarification or patient responses to care.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

The Respiratory Care Practitioner service patients in their home/contracted facility by providing either clinical respiratory services or equipment management services on a scheduled visit/appointment or through on-call notification.

Responsibilities:

• Completing day to day orders called into the Respiratory Therapy Department and follow up on visits for apnea monitor and or ventilator patients, in compliance with all regulatory agencies.
• Education of patient and caregivers regarding set up, use, maintenance and safety of respiratory therapy equipment in the home.
• Performs diagnostic testing on behalf of the physician.
• Communication with the patient's physician regarding clarification of orders or the patient's response to care may be required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
