Job summary

FORDHAM University seeks a Resource Specialist for NYC Regional Bilingual Education Resource Network to coordinate technical assistance and professional development for NYC schools. The role requires a Bachelor's degree, New York State certification as a bilingual/ESL teacher, and at least 5 years of experience teaching English Language Learners.

The successful candidate will provide support to schools, facilitate communication, and assist in school improvement initiatives while working in a collaborative environment.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Associate Dean and Director of the Center for Educational Partnerships, the Resource Specialist for NYC Regional Bilingual Education Resource Network (NYC‑RBERN) coordinates technical assistance and professional development for NYC schools and districts. This position may require occasional regional travel.

Essential Functions
  • Facilitates, coordinates, and provides technical assistance, professional development, and related activities to the schools and districts throughout NYC.
  • Assists the Director in carrying out the mission of the NYC‑RBERN by maintaining ongoing communication with the schools in the region and the Statewide districts.
  • Facilitates school‑based activities in target schools that are in various stages of improvement.
  • Attends NYSED network strategy professional development meetings in Albany.

Required Qualifications: Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • New York State certification as a bilingual/ESL teacher and/or administrator.
  • Minimum 5 years of teaching experience with English Language Learner students.

  • Experience and knowledge of School Improvement Initiatives and research‑based best practices for teaching ELLs.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree or higher in Bilingual Education or TESOL.

Compensation

Minimum Starting Salary: $96,967.00

Maximum Starting Salary: $96,967.00

Note: Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
