The position requires being 21+, 2 years of college credits or a degree or passing the ParaPro Praxis or Idaho Paraprofessional Testing Alternative. Salary is $16.24 per hour, with a 7.5-hour workday.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older to be a special education paraprofessional in secondary buildings.
• Have 2 years of college credits, or have a college degree, or pass the ParaPro Praxis Assessment with a score of 457 or higher, or Idaho Paraprofessional Testing Alternative with a score of 75% or higher.

Responsibilities

• Assist special education teachers with the program and IEPs.
• Prepare lesson plans and modify materials used in the classroom.
• Administer diagnostic, skills, and level testing under supervision.
• Assist students with assignments, tutoring, and supplemental instruction.
• Support students with socialization, personal hygiene, medications, and physical therapy as needed.
• Supervise students individually or in groups in classrooms or during inclusion with regular classes.
