Job summary

Grosse Pointe Public Schools is seeking an Elementary School Resource Program Teacher to plan and provide specialized instruction to students with IEPs and to serve as case manager, ensuring compliance and progress in the general education curriculum.

The position requires a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a special education endorsement, experience with students with disabilities, ability to collaborate with general education staff, and to participate in IEP meetings and related

Qualifications

Experience working with students with disabilities.
Knowledge of accommodations and supports.
Ability to participate in IEP meetings and related processes.
Ability to interpret academic assessments.
Knowledge of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
Ability to collaborate with staff and families.

Responsibilities

Determine instructional needs based on assessments and district curriculum; provide direct or supplemental instruction.
Support functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention plans.
Use technology to enhance instruction and promote student independence.
Develop and implement accommodations and modifications for the general education curriculum.
Develop and facilitate IEP meetings and maintain progress documentation.
Communicate with students and parents regularly; maintain service logs.
