Qualifications

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate.
• MI SpEd endorsement (any) required; SV endorsement preferred.
• Must be willing to obtain SV endorsement if hired.
• Significant experience in teaching.
• Extensive knowledge of developmental milestones.
• Related academic endorsements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ability to implement and instruct established Grosse Pointe Curriculum.
• Incorporate culturally diverse themes in lessons to reflect world, national, and community cultures.
• Integrate technology with instruction.
• Provide engaging instructional activities for meaningful learning experiences.
• Identify, select, and modify instructional resources for diverse learners.
• Assist in assessing curricular needs and propose improvements.
• Maintain effective record keeping procedures.
• Foster a positive environment encouraging active student engagement.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and professionals.
• Collaborate with peers to improve instructional environment.
• Model professional and ethical standards.
• Ensure student growth aligns with age, subject, and program.
• Maintain cooperative relationships with students, parents, and schools.
• Meet course and school-wide performance goals.
• Demonstrate gains in student performance.
• Meet professional obligations via deadlines and scheduling.
• Demonstrate quality assessment skills.
• Crisis Prevention training preferred.
