Job summary

Grand Rapids Public Schools Ottawa Hills High School (9-12) in Grand Rapids, Michigan is seeking a Teacher Special Education- Resource Programming to plan instruction and adapt curriculum for scholars with IEPs. The teacher will serve as case manager and ensure compliance with IEP goals.

This position requires a valid Michigan special education certification, a bachelor's degree in education, and knowledge of differentiated instruction, data-driven planning, and collaboration with staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education with endorsement in at least one area of special education (ASD, EI, CI, SLD, PI, HI, VI, TBI, etc.).
• Current appropriate Michigan special education teaching certification.
• Experience teaching the International Baccalaureate curriculum is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop Individualized Education Programs for scholars based on evaluation data and research-based practices.
• Differentiate instruction to ensure scholars' progress per the district’s Academic Plan.
• Document scholar progress on goals and objectives, accommodations, service time, and discipline/suspensions (GRPS Discipline Tracking Record).
• Collaborate with all service providers, general education teachers, and other staff to assist in providing support and documentation for the implementation and review of existing evaluation data (REED) process.
• Log and maintain monthly Service Capture reporting requirements for Medicaid Billing.
• Maintain an electronic log to document scholars’ goals and objectives, accommodations, and other IEP related services.
• Participate in RtI and Scholar Success Team processes as appropriate.
• Participate in PBIS initiatives.
• Integrate technology use in the classroom.
