Job summary

The Resource Nurse at Boston Medical Center provides support to staff nurses by assisting with registered nurse accountabilities within specific units/procedural areas, and by participating in staff education and performance improvement activities. The role may vary slightly between units.

This full-time position is 36 hours per week with a night shift (7 p to 7:30 a), every third weekend and rotating holidays. Active MA RN license and BLS/ACLS/NIHSS certification are required.

Qualifications

• Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred).
• Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years.
• 2+ years of critical care experience required.

Responsibilities

• Function in Rapid Response/Code Blue and other units as needed.
• Assist staff with procedures, policies and patient care.
• Support staff education and performance improvement activities.
• Promote staff growth, teamwork and nursing proficiency.
