Job summary

Aurora Health Care is seeking Float Registered Nurses to provide adaptable Med Surg care across multiple Wisconsin facilities. You will work across hospitals and units based on organizational needs, delivering high-quality care with flexibility and professionalism.

Must have an accredited nursing program, active RN license in Wisconsin, BLS and ACLS, and at least 2 years of Medical-Surgical RN experience. Weekend and holiday commitments are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license in the state of practice
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 2 years Medical Surgical RN experience
• Weekend shifts: Fri 1900 – Mon 0700 (4 weekends per 6-week schedule)
• Holiday commitment: 2 holidays per year

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care and apply evidence-based practices.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care with patient/family involvement.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, and collaborates with the care team to influence outcomes.
• Upholds and promotes a culture of safety.
• Evaluates outcomes and takes action as needed.
• May administer medications and therapies per protocols.
• Demonstrates effective communication and appropriate delegation.
• Pursues professional development and maintains certifications.
• Adheres to the ANA Code of Ethics and ethical patient care.
• Delegates to RNs, LPNs, and UAPs as appropriate.
• Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• May float to other units within service area.
• Provides patient care appropriate to age-specific needs.
