Resource Development Manager
Location: Richmond, TX
The Fort Bend Women’s Center (FBWC) is dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault and helping individuals and families build safer, healthier futures. We are seeking a Resource Development Manager to join our team and help strengthen our fundraising, donor engagement, volunteer involvement, and special event efforts.
Position Summary
The Resource Development Manager leads fundraising and engagement activities that support FBWC’s mission and revenue goals. This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual, corporate, and organizational donors.
The Resource Development Manager will oversee fundraising campaigns, workplace giving initiatives, special events, sponsorships, and volunteer engagement while building strong relationships with donors, corporate partners, community stakeholders, and volunteers.
This role requires a highly organized, relationship-focused professional who can manage multiple projects, meet revenue goals, work collaboratively across departments, and represent FBWC with a high level of professionalism.
Essential Functions
Donor Development & Fundraising
- Develop and implement donor development and cultivation strategies that create a diverse and sustainable funding base for FBWC.
- Research individuals, corporations, foundations, and organizations to identify prospective donors and funding opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to acquire, renew, retain, and upgrade donors.
- Develop and maintain relationships with individual and corporate donors and community partners.
- Develop solicitation strategies and coordinate or conduct donor solicitations in collaboration with leadership, Board members, staff, and volunteers.
- Identify and pursue new sources of corporate and individual funding.
- Represent FBWC at corporate volunteer activities and community events to strengthen relationships with corporate and community leaders.
- Maintain accurate donor and prospect information in the organization’s CRM system.
- Develop targeted donor and stakeholder pipelines and utilize CRM outreach tools, including email and digital communications, to strengthen engagement and increase donor and volunteer conversion.
- Deliver presentations about FBWC, its mission, programs, fundraising initiatives, and community impact as needed.
Event, Campaign & Volunteer Management
- Develop event strategies, concepts, budgets, timelines, and measurable revenue goals.
- Lead the planning and execution of FBWC and ThriftWise fundraising events and campaigns.
- Create and manage event timelines, programs, task lists, and production schedules.
- Develop and secure corporate sponsorships and other event revenue opportunities.
- Create compelling event sponsorship packages and customized opportunities for corporate partners.
- Lead event planning and production meetings and coordinate responsibilities across departments.
- Partner with the Communications Team on event concepts, branding, graphic design, printing, marketing, and promotional materials.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and services with vendors and event partners.
- Coordinate event logistics, including venues, food and beverage, supplies, décor, audiovisual needs, travel arrangements, and other event requirements.
- Recruit, train, coordinate, and recognize volunteers supporting fundraising campaigns and special events.
- Collaborate with the Volunteer Department to ensure appropriate volunteer staffing and engagement.
- Secure guest speakers, presenters, and entertainment as appropriate.
- Assist with or develop event scripts, presentations, and speaker remarks.
- Monitor event performance and provide progress updates and post-event reporting.
- Work toward and achieve established fundraising and revenue goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience coordinating and managing large-scale special events, preferably events with 100+ attendees.
- Demonstrated success in fundraising, sponsorship development, donor engagement, or revenue-generating events.
- Proven ability to meet or exceed established fundraising and revenue goals.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM/database systems.
- Experience using social media and digital communications as part of fundraising, donor engagement, or event marketing strategies.
- Experience working with corporate partners, VIPs, executives, community leaders, and other high-profile stakeholders.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong project management, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong budgeting, financial management, negotiation, and vendor-management skills.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a cross-functional team.
