Fort Bend Women's Center has supported survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault since 1980, helping adults and children achieve safety and long-term self-sufficiency. The organization operates the only dedicated emergency shelter and crisis hotline for domestic violence and sexual assault in Fort Bend County, and is the largest regional provider of non-residential services such as counseling, case management, advocacy, and other support. It also offers a range of housing programs, from short-term to long-term assistance, serving primarily Fort Bend and Harris counties while remaining open to any survivor in need. The Center is known for adopting innovative, evidence-informed approaches to victim services, including positive reinforcement, motivational interviewing, mobile advocacy, and specialized treatments such as neurofeedback training and behavioral therapy. These services uniquely support clients living with traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic stress disorder, and other mental health conditions, making the organization a leader in comprehensive survivor-centered care.

Role Description

The Resource Development Director is a full-time, on-site role based in Richmond, TX, responsible for leading and executing fundraising and resource development strategies to sustain and grow Fort Bend Women's Center's programs. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and managing annual giving campaigns, planned giving initiatives, and major donor engagement, as well as identifying new funding opportunities from individuals, corporations, foundations, and community partners. The Director will oversee donor stewardship activities, maintain accurate donor records, and prepare reports and presentations for leadership and the board. This role will also manage volunteer engagement related to fundraising events and campaigns, collaborating with program and communications staff to align messaging, storytelling, and outreach with the organization's mission. The Resource Development Director will be expected to represent the Center at community events and meetings, strengthening relationships and enhancing visibility to support philanthropic growth.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in resource development and fundraising strategy, including Resource Development and Philanthropy skills.
• Proficiency in designing and managing Annual Giving campaigns and donor retention programs.
• Knowledge of Planned Giving vehicles and practices, with the ability to cultivate and steward legacy and major gifts.
• Experience with Volunteer Management, particularly in coordinating volunteer involvement in events and development activities.
• Strong relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and donors.
• Experience using donor management or CRM systems, and the ability to analyze data to inform fundraising decisions.
• Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Prior work in nonprofit, social services, or advocacy organizations, especially those serving survivors of violence, is highly beneficial.
