Job summary

Fremont Public Schools seeks a Special Education Teacher for JCAC (Grades 5-6). The position is a Full-Time Contract beginning August 2027 at Johnson Crossing Academic Center. Eligible for the 2026-27 negotiated compensation package, including base salary and a $9,000 stipend, with comprehensive benefits.

Requirements include Nebraska Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsement in Special Education. The role focuses on collaboration, adapted instruction, and student support within a team

Qualifications

• Nebraska Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsement in Special Education.
• Experience in regular and special education with emphasis on Specific Learning Disabilities, Behavior Disorders, and At-Risk Students.

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned students at the locations and times designated.
• Maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
• Plans a program of study and adapts curriculum for special needs students.
• Assists in diagnosis of disabilities and seeks district specialists as required.
• Collaborates with teachers to plan instructional goals and methods.
• Assists in selecting books and instructional materials.
