The Resort Manager is a salaried, exempt leader and member of the Resort Leadership Committee. In partnership with the General Manager, this role leads day-to-day resort operations and oversees the Food & Beverage, Event Services, Guest Relations, Retail, and Housekeeping departments. The Resort Manager supports leaders across the resort and is accountable for consistent service, colleague engagement, financial performance, safety, and compliance while delivering Miraval and Hyatt standards.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the Food & Beverage, Event Services, Guest Relations, Retail, and Housekeeping departments, and coordinate with other resort leaders to support smooth daily operations.
- Recruit, select, develop, and retain department leaders and supervisory staff.
- Set departmental goals and operating plans aligned with Miraval and Hyatt strategies and standards.
- Coach department leaders, monitor performance, and support their professional development.
- Coordinate daily operational priorities and address issues that affect guests, colleagues, or resort performance.
- Oversee operating budgets and forecasts for assigned departments, monitor labor and expenses, identify efficiencies that maintain service standards, and contribute to annual budgeting and multi-year capital planning.
- Balance guest satisfaction, colleague engagement, and financial performance in day-to-day decisions.
- Ensure compliance with company and brand standards, as well as applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Lead workforce planning for assigned departments, including staffing plans, labor budgets, and succession planning.
- Conduct performance reviews and create development plans for department leaders.
- Ensure department leaders and colleagues are trained to help guests engage fully in the Miraval experience.
- Engage regularly with guests and colleagues, modeling Miraval and Hyatt values through empathetic, respectful, and sound judgment.
- Monitor guest feedback and satisfaction results, and ensure timely service recovery.
- Ensure resort operations follow applicable safety, security, and emergency procedures.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality, business, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least five years of progressive leadership experience in a hotel or resort, including responsibility for multiple departments, budgets, staffing, and service standards.
- Luxury, upscale, high-touch service, spa, or wellness resort experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and guest service skills, with the ability to train, coach, evaluate, and address colleague performance.
- Professional presentation and demeanor.
- Strong understanding of hotel or resort operations, including service standards, staffing, and financial management.
- Demonstrated success improving guest satisfaction and colleague engagement.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including extended hours as required by resort operations, and travel occasionally on behalf of the company.
- Familiarity with hotel or resort performance measures, brand standards, and service positioning.
- Ability to prepare clear business communications, summaries, and reports.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, monitor expenses, and allocate resources effectively.
- Sound, timely decision-making and problem-solving skills, using available facts, company policies, and professional judgment.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, with attention to detail and consistent follow-through.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, interruptions, and changing business needs in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong computer skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
