Job summary

Sun Outdoors is seeking a Resort Maintenance Technician to perform routine and preventative maintenance across resort properties in Florida. You will handle repairs, inspections, lawn care, and cleaning to keep grounds, facilities and amenities inviting for guests and residents.

You will work outdoors year-round, use hand tools and power equipment, and report issues to the Resort Manager. The role requires physical endurance, reliability, and ability to work on-call as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (Required).
• 6 months in previous maintenance experience in a campground or RV resort (Preferred).
• Demonstrated knowledge of and broad experience in general maintenance techniques and repair work.
• Ability to endure seasonal temperatures as working conditions require outdoor work.
• General knowledge of janitorial work, plumbing, and grounds maintenance.
• Proficient skills in operating various hand tools, power equipment, and commercial machinery.
• Ability to provide legible written reports.
• Ability to work well independently as well as on a team.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to use email and internet.
• Availability to respond to resort needs during non-business hours while on-call.

Responsibilities

• Empty trash, perform maintenance or repair duties with power tools.
• Complete minor repairs to rental units and facilities.
• Carry out routine maintenance and minor emergency repairs.
• Inspect irrigation systems and repair as needed.
• Inspect playgrounds, pools, and recreation areas; perform minor repairs.
• Keep resort presentable according to curb appeal standards.
• Perform lawn care including weed control, mowing, planting.
• Maintain resort streets and common areas; empty trash daily.
• Ensure resort vehicles and equipment are maintained.
• Report maintenance issues to the manager.
• Ensure resort streets and public access routes are hazard-free.
• Maintain resort pool(s) and test chemical levels.
• Maintain resort vehicles and equipment.
• Follow safety procedures and operate vehicles when moving between sites.
