Job summary

Amrit Ocean Resort in Palm Beach Isles, FL seeks a Chief Engineer to oversee all admin, financial, and operational aspects of the Engineering Department, ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable resort operations and the highest standards of facility management, life safety, and guest satisfaction.

The role leads the engineering team, manages the annual budget and forecasts, supervises preventive maintenance and capital projects, ensures regulatory compliance, and drives energy conservation

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive facilities management experience in a hotel, resort, or related field.
• A 4-year college degree with at least 1 year of related management experience; or
• A 2-year college degree with 3+ years of related management experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Stationary Engineer’s license if required by local code.
• Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler operations, and general maintenance systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Engineering team with focus on customer service, SOPs, and loss prevention.
• Create, approve, and post Engineering staff schedules.
• Prepare, manage, and adhere to the annual departmental budget.
• Develop financial forecasts and participate in monthly P&L reviews.
• Maintain buildings, equipment, grounds, and assets in excellent condition.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and codes.
• Oversee preventive maintenance programs for all resort systems.
• Ensure emergency and life safety systems are inspected and certified.
• Address guest room and facility maintenance needs promptly.
• Assist with capital projects and energy conservation initiatives.
• Lead Safety Committee and safety-related initiatives.
• Review guest feedback to identify and correct issues promptly.
