Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive facilities management experience in a hotel, resort, or related field.
  • A 4-year college degree with at least 1 year of related management experience; or
  • A 2-year college degree with 3+ years of related management experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Stationary Engineer’s license if required by local code.
  • Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler operations, and general maintenance systems.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Engineering team with focus on customer service, SOPs, and loss prevention.
  • Create, approve, and post Engineering staff schedules.
  • Prepare, manage, and adhere to the annual departmental budget.
  • Develop financial forecasts and participate in monthly P&L reviews.
  • Maintain buildings, equipment, grounds, and assets in excellent condition.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and codes.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance programs for all resort systems.
  • Ensure emergency and life safety systems are inspected and certified.
  • Address guest room and facility maintenance needs promptly.
  • Assist with capital projects and energy conservation initiatives.
  • Lead Safety Committee and safety-related initiatives.
  • Review guest feedback to identify and correct issues promptly.

Description

Position Overview

The Chief Engineer is responsible for all administrative, financial, and operational aspects of the resort as they relate to the Engineering Department. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and profitable operation of the property while maintaining the highest standards of facility management, life safety, and guest satisfaction at Amrit Ocean Resort.

Key Responsibilities
  • ·Supervise, train, and develop all Engineering team members with a focus on customer service, empowerment, standard operating procedures, and loss prevention.
  • ·Create, approve, and post Engineering staff schedules in alignment with operational needs.
  • ·Prepare, manage, and adhere to the annual departmental budget.
  • ·Develop financial forecasts and actively participate in monthly profit and loss review meetings.
  • ·Develop and implement strategies to maintain the resort’s buildings, equipment, grounds, and assets in excellent condition.
  • ·Ensure full compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and codes.
  • ·Create and oversee a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for all resort equipment and systems.
  • ·Ensure all emergency and life safety systems are properly inspected, tested, and certified.
  • ·Ensure guest room and facility maintenance requests are addressed promptly and courteously.
  • ·Respond immediately to alarms to determine location, cause, and emergency status; communicate findings and take appropriate action.
  • ·Assist with capital projects, renovations, and special initiatives as needed.
  • ·Actively support energy conservation and sustainability initiatives.
  • ·Review guest feedback and comment cards to identify and correct issues in a timely manner.
  • ·Ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • ·Administer and manage all vendor contracts related to the Engineering Department.
  • ·Lead and participate in the resort’s Safety Committee and safety-related initiatives.

  • ·Comply with all resort policies and procedures to promote safe and efficient operations.
  • ·Maximize productivity by identifying problem areas and assisting in implementing effective solutions.
  • ·Proactively anticipate, prevent, identify, and resolve operational issues.
  • ·Analyze and evaluate complex information and data from multiple sources to meet operational objectives.
  • ·Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • ·Perform other duties as assigned by resort management
Education & Experience

Physical Requirements
