Job summary

IonQ, Inc. in Bothell, WA, seeks a Senior Manager, Resilience Engineering & Operations to lead the resilience team keeping IonQ's hosted quantum computers running reliably while improving uptime and throughput across the fleet.

This is a technical leadership role that requires hands-on credibility, cross-functional collaboration with engineering and physics, and the ability to build processes, handoffs, and a follow-the-sun operating model with Europe.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physics or a related field and equivalent hands-on experience.
• 5+ years of technical leadership and people management in operational or engineering settings.
• Experience in reliability or resilience engineering, incident management, or Learning From Incidents.
• Experience with automation, calibration, and maintenance of complex systems.
• Strong communication, judgment, and ability to balance time, cost, and risk.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day fleet support, incident response, and operational readiness for IonQ's hosted quantum systems.
• Own team strategy and execution across fleet operations and continuous improvement.
• Manage priorities, schedules, and sparing to support reliable performance.
• Collaborate with engineers, physicists, vendors, and customers to resolve issues and influence designs.
• Define and track performance metrics to drive technical rigor and learning from incidents.
